How did I lose this? The only advantage the Ottomans had were defending on a marsh (-1 roll for me) and a very slightly better general while I had literally everything else, +1 morale, +5% discipline, +15% tradition etc etc

Is Brandenburg -> Prussia easy for a newbie

    Posted: 26 Oct 2021 12:00 AM PDT

Title says it all. Would you recommend or advise someone with sub 50 hours to try and form Prussia as Brandenburg? I'm a bit tired of playing the recommended "noob" nations, and want to try something more interesting.

    Orthodox reformation

Restored the patriarchy before reformation kicked in. Pope dismantled and reformation never happens. Entire hre, save from hab, converted to orthodoxy - thus orthodox reformation!

The Pope just joined the HRE

    Posted: 26 Oct 2021 09:17 AM PDT

So, as the title says, in my current Austria game, the Imperial Incident where the Pope joins the HRE fired. It says something like "Every catholic nation that is not part of the HRE will suffer greatly from this" (or sth like that, I play the german version of the game, so I'm not 100% sure what the original English line is).

    What exactly does that mean?

    Fun campaign ideas

    Posted: 26 Oct 2021 11:05 AM PDT

Eu4 is one of the best historical strategy game ever released, but it can end up getting quite repetitive once you've reached a certain amount of hours. So I decided to make a list of the most original and fun campaign. Feel free to share more if you have any idea.

    1. Montferat restoration of Byzantium : restore the great byzantine empire playing as Montferat (or Italy), starting as small vassal of Savoy and ending up as one of the greatest power in the Mediteranean. Avalible because of Montferat's ideas

    2. Pirate Italy : starting as Genoa or aragon, release and play as one of the meditreanean islands, declare your independance, hoist the blag flag and spread terror and trouble all throughout the peninsula ! Far easier as Sicily, because biggest island and ability to form Two-Sicilies.

    3. Crusader state Orleans : as Joan of arc's homeland, follow through a unique event chain to become a sisterhood for Christ, and avenge the maid of Orleans by humiliating the english !

    4. Wurzburg-Charlemagne empire : as Wurzburg, form Franconia, and use Franconia's mission tree to claim the throne of France ! If you manage to get a Hoenzollern on the Throne, you can claim Branderburg too !

    5. The hanseatic league play as Lubeck and revive the dwindling league, making conquests in all of northern europe.

    6. The Dalaï-Lama's Horde : one of Tibet's mission allows the player to become a horde and spread terror in all of India (and then in China ?)

That's it for me ! Any other obscure campaign idea ? Tell me in the comments !

Interesting challenge: Has anyone ever done a "Mali Nostrum"?

    Posted: 26 Oct 2021 04:56 AM PDT

Given the new mission tree the origins DLC brings, I thought it might be fun to do a Mali Nostrum. Any thoughts on this?

I want to get the Guarantor of Peace achievement, which nation is best for that?

    Posted: 26 Oct 2021 12:53 PM PDT

I have no clue where to start, but I imagined Poland would be good because you can inhibit both Muscovy and the Ottomans in their initial growth and keep them from getting powerful.

What are your recommendations? Maybe some of you have already done this one have a decent strategy.
