    The Far East Update

Ciao ragazzi and welcome to another ME update (:

First and foremost I will never be able to thank Claivin enough for the work he did on these trees that I've just updated and expanded a little here and there (:

This part of the DD is going to be pretty big so I'm sorry if I'll summarise it a bit, but after nearly a year the return of these beloved tags has finally happened!

    https://preview.redd.it/t1tghtoaicd71.png?width=4096&format=png&auto=webp&s=e2be6b7f93fd93f35e3463c897e707eb66ed8779

I'll start it with Governments Expanded's contribution to the family, with thanks to our beloved man Jay crafting this wonderful reforms for what we can classify as Evenki and Kamchadals [or Koryaks].

    https://preview.redd.it/ybinmnkficd71.png?width=1555&format=png&auto=webp&s=6cce7db2ae0a675318a62836c9099dd00c39985e

As for now the Evenki "nations" defined as the nation of: Solon, Nivkh, Buryat [the revolter] and the Evenki Federation [from FE] will have a tree focusing on the Manchuria and Siberian Region:

    https://preview.redd.it/njnxu5domcd71.png?width=528&format=png&auto=webp&s=784ca0f8f7531f11dd8bbd78d0a6da4ec648a357

I know that, in real life, the link between the "Evenki" and the Jurchen [and as we will see later on the Kamchatkas] is not as strong and as profound as it seems in EU4, but following the game limitations and setup [in terms of cultures and culture groups] the Evenk [and Kamchadals] tree will enable the formation of the Manchu with a twist!

Example of a Manchu Decision mission

Ss for both, you will have clear missions and events about the colonisation of the Siberia Regions, but these events will be available ONLY if you are not Manchu as a Evenki or Kamchatkan minor [just like the GE reforms] so be aware of forming Manchu!

    https://preview.redd.it/bkp7ob6xicd71.png?width=659&format=png&auto=webp&s=f608fed7e85d1bb13fe8bef1d56d67d0d1696173

Similarly, our Kamchatkans will have a similar path but with a twist with the colonisation of Northern America!

    https://preview.redd.it/5p3styjqmcd71.png?width=525&format=png&auto=webp&s=20f0e4e87a8da58d8bb848b5df8f74211b757e45

Now, what about the North America?

Should you arrive there fast enough, a great event will allow you to migrate to your North America colonies, allowing you to colonize that cold, brave wilderness (:

    https://preview.redd.it/qdtjsjhpjcd71.png?width=464&format=png&auto=webp&s=d5b02ce3f9fcf5015e29ca871d6025541c750c8f

Now, let's grill some more with the Jurchens...

The Jianzhou into Manchu will be the "default" tree in case you form Manchu [and later on Qing] as any nation that is not the one that is showcased above [and below] for the Jurchen tribes, they will have a both a shared path as well as a few missions that will be unique to them only:

    Jurchen Generic (Yeren Variation)

    Jurchen Generic (Udege Variation)

    Jurchen Generic (Haixi Variation)

    Jurchen Generic (Donghai Variation)

Beware Centralize Heilongjang, The Clans of Jilin and Across the Silkhote-Alin have 3 rewards, based on having [or not] completed the other mission.

    https://preview.redd.it/hacvzk12kcd71.png?width=1691&format=png&auto=webp&s=9037b8d9418298448c579aee423e9c367e4dc3f9

For the Manchus [I have to summarise more due to Reddit limits], your tree will mostly be history-alike, with key events and mission around the campaign, expansion, battles and sieges of the united Manchu.

Remember, the Manchu tree will be available if you form Qing as well (: Further work on Qing proper has started don't worry ^^

(Changes were made since the screenshot was taken)

You will surely see the rest inside the images, but now it's time for Japan to rise (:

Now, welcome to Japan, the far-eastern empire :)

While the first iteration of the new Japanese tree had 3 paths based on the will of the most influential Daimyo of Japan, the second iteration, thank to the work of Shiro <3 has approached a different path:

Now the new tree features a three-way focus, one around the conquest of mainland Eastern Asia, one for the colonisation and the conquest of the most spicy trade centres in the East Indies and other colonization, as well as the development and creation of a proper base for your tallest Japan tree ever (:

    https://preview.redd.it/ujzxf2kglcd71.png?width=2048&format=png&auto=webp&s=f21db8ca0127598fccd47392bacf1ae7a6216a15

    Other Mod Updates

Missions Expanded is not the only mod to update this weekend, as Governments Expanded, Flavor Events Expanded and Great Monuments Expanded did so as well.

Flavor and Events Expanded, besides having received a few fixes, also features the new Mantuan Events:

    https://preview.redd.it/d8hx5zitlcd71.png?width=3916&format=png&auto=webp&s=59c05b47630d450c1b73815a6a20bc5c902de726

Let's check out the notes about Great Monuments Expanded now:

Today the new update is centred around 3 regions, Balkan, Carphatia and Sahel region. Despite this update not being final in all the 3 regions, we believe that these monuments would have been the most desired ones, so here they are:

    https://preview.redd.it/w9zxs9d8mcd71.png?width=2021&format=png&auto=webp&s=8faf49599fcc37b6498143dcab9ed1c33f416ead

Now, following the past updates as always, some of them will be basically available to the most, such as some castles, whereas others will be country specific. As for the Tomb of Askia, and a few others, those will will be available to a larger culture group like the Sankore Madrasah [or University of Timbuktu].

    The End

Congratulations! You reached the end. Now be graced with my personal thanks for taking your time to go through this all, no matter how much we decided to shorten it ;)

Remember, those mods belong to our Expanded Mod Family, so make sure to get the whole pack!

Ive played quite a bit of Eu4 but i dont ever really go out of my way to do anything too out of the ordinary.

Give me your most based ideas, be it forming a nation unconventionally, swapping religion, culturing converting a whole region, or just roleplaying or anything else you have.

    Thanks eu4 reddit 👍

Rajputana ideas synergizes well with being a horde and zoroastrianism

    Posted: 25 Jul 2021 10:21 AM PDT

Rajputana has some of the best military ideas I've seen, paired with Zoroastrainism, being a horde and baku Atesh gah you get.

    +10% moral of armies

    +35% national manpower modifier

    +15% land fire damage

    -10% land fire damage received

    +15% Cavalry combat ability

    +30% movement speed

    +20% Discipline

Best horde to do this with? Attempted Crimea (accidentally got the idea in the middle of the run), but Golden Horde, Nogai, Chagatai or even Uzbek might be better options due to geographic proximity.

Main thing is to be able to quickly take the needed holy sites and land to form Rajputana. I also wonder what happens if you form Rajputana as a horde? The wiki says that there is no government type requirement, so you turn into a horde with Indian tech-group? Do you loose the Tribes estate as it's tied to the nomadic tech group? Do you gain any of the indian estates or are you just left without any estates?

(because frankly that might make this idea useless as you loose -20% cavalry cost and +20% manpower recovery speed)

If you loose the tribes estate Ilkhanate might be the better option. It synergizes well too, though it does not even have half the military bonuses. It has a trade bonus which pairs well with the Zoroastrian trade bonus though.

Will probably test it with aid of the console tomorrow what happens if you form Rajputana as a horde.

Edit: You can also get +20% manpower modifier from true faith provinces from a decision which is pretty nifty, but honestly just a weaker version of defender of the faith. Which zoroastrian can't get (even though i think it should). Though on the other hand you need 20% countries following your religion anyway to get that bonus and country-count decreses sharply as the game progresses so it's not a bonus you can count on lategame.

Only other religions which get you manpower modifiers this is big are protestant and of course orthodox which is the strongest religion, by far.

Yuan or Mughals for first world conquest?

    Posted: 25 Jul 2021 11:29 AM PDT

I am currently attempting to do my first world conquest but I am torn between Timurids>Mughals>Caliphate or Oirat>Yuan>Mongol Empire. Comparing the ideas Yuan seems to have better ideas but Mughals gets 5% more admin efficiency from the Deccan event. Any help in deciding would be appreciated.
