New Persia Update Announcement - Flavor Universalis Dev Diary!

Good day everyone, another week another Dev Diary and I am here to talk about Qara Qoyunlu!

The Black Sheep Turkmen hold a large yet unstable area in the Western side of the Persian Region and their mission tree will take them towards all directions!

A lot of unique and interesting missions beeee

    Here are a few highlights:

A new type of advisor, awarded to you after you deal with the Copts!

You will gain access to that broken and OP monument if you complete this mission before forming Persia!

Spears shall be shaken! Shields shall be splintered!

    A shepherd, basically.

    An Era of Tribal Prosperity!

Now I shall pass the mic to Nik, who worked on the Ardabil Tree, to spill the tea about the predecessor of Safavid Persia!

Hi there, I'm the one he misspelled as Nick in the Byzantium Dev Diary! And I'm here to present my first (hopefully not the last) mission tree contribution to the mod!
So, Ardabil, what is there to say about little ol' Ardabil, well not much bar the fact that they're the historical choice for forming the mighty Persia! And as such they have some unique new things about them added by the update. The tree itself is not a large one, however, that is intentional, worry not, as Ardabil is just a stepping stone before you form the Persian empire!

    In all of its glory!

Starting from the Safavid order itself, as a Shia religious order, we have missions sprinkled around the tree that are all about the Safavid interactions with the various Sunni AND Shia nations around them, like this one!

    Mission Passed: Respect+

Next up, is the special sauce of the Ardabil tree, that being, choosing between your cavalry units, depending on what unit type you choose to use, you get special rewards and for the really patient ones, well let's just say the rewards are much better ;) .

    You get a dynamic reward!

And you get a dynamic reward!

    Everyone gets a dynamic reward!

This is granted only if you complete the mission with tech 6 Cavalry

Next up, is the bread and butter of the Ardabil campaigns, consolidating Persia under it so you can eventually switch tags, well, this tree makes that significantly easier and more natural as opposed to the vanilla game that leaves you at the mercy of fabricating your own claims. With a special CB for the Persia region!

A New Special CB to bring the entire region to its knees!

The rest of the tree I will let you check out for yourselves, not to spoil too much, however there is one more thing we're missing and that would be the man of the hour, the one who formed Persia, Ismail I Safavid!

You get him as an heir around 1480 and let's just say, he's nothing to scoff at, only this time, we're hoping you'll have more luck with the Ottomans than he did historically.

Maybe he should not go hunting for some time.

That's it from me, for the rest of the tree, you'll just have to play it for yourself when the mod gets updated ;).
    ----
That's all from us folks, tune in next week when we talk about Ajam and the Persian tree itself!

Take care I love you all!
