“War for a cow” historical event suggestion Posted: 26 May 2021 06:48 AM PDT I found this wacky historical "war" between two neighboring towns over the Pomeranian-Brandenburger border. Link to Polish Wikipedia. Context: The two towns: Åšwidwin/Schivelbein in Brandenburg (Neumark) and BiaÅ‚ogard/Belgard in Pomerania (Pomerania wasn't united yet but I don't know which duchy), around 30 km apart, separated by the border between the two states. As some of you might know from history, Pomerania was Brandenburg's nemesis and on many occasions Brandenburg wanted to incorporate Pomerania into their own holdings, but Pomerania usually broke free. This was likely to elicit occasional border conflicts. The "war": In July 1469 the residents of the two towns skirmished at the border. The casus belli was supposedly a cow (stolen or killed). Åšwidwin/Schivelbein, the Brandenburger town won the battle. According to sources 300 inhabitants of BiaÅ‚ogard/Belgard were killed and 100 captured, along with loot. Implementation: I thought this could be a humorous event for Pomerania. Unfortunately the Wikipedia article doesn't specify which side lost the cow. Maybe more research could be done, but we can just assume that one of the sides was the cow-thief, -killer or whatever. Let's for the propose of this post assume that the Pomeranians lost the cow: Event for Pomerania:
Event for Brandenburg:
Event for Brandenburg if Pomerania declares:
Event after either side wins the war:
The "cow" in province will either have no effect at all, or if we wanna get a bit crazy with the meme events it might add like +0.25 goods produced or something. Pomerania in all of the above would be either Pomerania if it exists or one of the Pomeranian minors. Maybe if Pomerania doesn't exist it should prioritize the player so more will experience with magnificent event. I might make this a mod BTW. [link] [comments] | ||
