What time is it? Yep, it's screw-the-player o'clock.

Don’t really play EU4 anymore, but decided to hop on for a chill Siberian Frontier new world game. If I continue, I’d conquer and form Scandinavia just for the laugh.

How exactly do you play eu4?

    Posted: 17 Mar 2021 04:17 AM PDT

Ok, so this might be an annoying question but how do you get into it? I am coming from Total War games and have become tired of just these games where you steamroll all the games and just the war part in general. I have also read on this subreddit that it takes around 100 hours to get into it, so before making the time or money investment, what are the mechanics. What I mean is like in Total War, there is a campaign map with regions and cities, and certain regions belong to certain factions. There are visible units on the campaign map and so on and so forth. On eu4 however, I see a blank map, no units or anything at all for that matter. How does the game work. How do you fight battles, are there cities? I am coming from Total War as it is kind of boring with very simple diplomacy. Is the game more complex diplomacy and politics oriented because if it is, I would love to get into it.

P.S. I tried to watch Youtube videos but left within 20 seconds as it was veryyyy boring. And again, I am sorry foe asking such a stupid question.

Edit: Which dlcs to buy? The game is really cheap but holy hell, I checked the collection bundle and damn me if there isn't a lot! There are a lot of packs that are like $1.50 but collectively, THEY ARE $123. What to do???
