If you could add one mechanic to EUIV, what would it be?

    Posted: 28 Oct 2021 09:04 PM PDT

As the title suggests. It could be tiny or massive, game changing or just a quality of life change, but if you could make Paradox add one mechanic to the game, what would it be? (Excluding fixing the unending Leviathan bugs).

For me it would be an optional game mode where national ideas are removed and they're instead passively formed through the actions you take in the game. Every fifteen years or so (to mimic the rate you unlock national ideas now) you unlock a new idea based on what you've been doing. Conquering a tonne? Core reduction cost. Dominating trade? Trade bonuses. Building a bunch of units? Increased force limits, and so forth. It'd probably end up very exploitable or annoying (since you'd probably get some useless ideas) but I would like it as an alternative, more RP based game mode. It would also make a lot of minors more interesting to play and also potentially make multiplayer more balanced (although there'd just end up being a meta around it). Alternatively, just add some passive bonuses in addition to national ideas, based off the actions the player takes. I feel like it would add some spice to the game and encourage some alternate play styles, since I've always found the idea that countries are destined to achieve certain things kind of immersion breaking. I'm as much of a fan of busted ideas anyone else, but I would enjoy it for those campaigns where I want to relax, and use EUIV as an alternate history simulator.

Obviously this would never happen, since it would take a bunch of effort for a game mode almost nobody would use, but that's the point of the thread. Let me know below!

Best Muslim religious denomination + school of law for Andalusia?

    Posted: 29 Oct 2021 12:52 AM PDT

Just what the title says, I'm curious what you all think is the best muslim religion + school of law is for an Andalusia game as Morocco, assuming that you chose to take the Andalusian ideas.
