How I broke the game as post-colonial Caribbean Posted: 03 Sep 2021 12:31 AM PDT Long story short released and switched to my CN in the Caribbeans. I was already GP, over governing capacity, bunch of garbage land and plutocracy as my only option as 4-year republic. Don't really like merchant republics, but it was meant to be a temporary solution anyway. Then I came across the nice button to create trade cities. Since I had no friends there and lots of land to sacrifice, I created a few, just to see what happens... and now comes the fun... A Trade city follows the client state mechanics, therefore they clone your idea groups. Yes, Exploration, Expansion... So they start colonising on day 1 and "betray you" and leave your trade league on the second. However, you can ally them on day 1 and most likely they will accept vassalization straight after they leave. I think I don't have to explain too much what this means. Colonising vassal swarm in iron mode, without mods or cheating. And if it is not enough... well, you can actually give them a bit more time. If they meet the conditions, they can form various colonial tags and still likely they will accept vassalasiation. Yes, again you heard it. You can have a colonising vassal that has clams on entire regions like Mexico :) If you still don't think this is truly amazing... well, just create a or a few trade cities on the Ivory coast. Let them go berserk. Some of them will colonise Africa for you, some of them will create CNs in the world :D :D :D On a side note obviously you cannot get the extra merchant. In the colonial regions that is not a problem, since you wouldn't get them anyway. In the TC area though you will have to balance it out, or just wait until the whole thing can be annexed. Also keep in mind that vassals have aggregated liberty desire. This was completely manageable for me until 1600 (didn't get past it yet) as the colonial region has some horribly poor development. If things go south or if there are some that never accepted vassalisation war is still an option. At least you will have an underdeveloped enemy with your religion and your culture. And for this reason actually it makes sense to create a bunch of more trade cities beyond your diplo slot limit. So they won't be breed to vassalize, but to be conquered. But again, by then they will colonise with your religion and culture. Yes, merchant republics are truly the best :D :D :D [link] [comments] | ||
