Is there any advantage to converting from Timurids to the Mughals

Is there any advantage to converting from Timurids to the Mughals

Or maybe the question is, at what time should one convert?

Last game, I converted as soon as I got Delhi&Lahore thinking it would bring me an improvement over the "Horde"-tech&ideas of the Timurids.

Needless to say, I immediately lost a lot of trade income, since my capital (and the trade capital) got moved to the Delhi region. (I was pretty big as Timurid in the Persia Region after having released Transoxiana to keep the other vassals of Fars, Sistan, Afghanistan and eventually diplo annexing them, followed by the the conquest of Ajam and hence could dominate that node and push all trade towards it.)

I realized long after what had happened. By then I was already under a mountain of debt.

Started a new game and it got me thinking, why not conquer all of India without turning into the Mughals? Is there any specific advantage to that?

    EDIT:

I am that big now. Baluchistan, Ladakh,Chaghatai, Biapas and Nogai are my vassals and the year is 1512.

    EDIT:

Ok! I got convinced and converted to the Mughals around 1550 (after vassalizing the Nogai, Yarkand, Oman and Sindh. (Baluchistan, Chaghatai and Ladakh were already vassals in the above map.

Tremble Minions! For lo the Mughal Empire arrives!

So in my Br*tish campaign, I freed OPM Leon from Castile so I could feed Castile to Leon and eventually annex them. However, little did I know that Leon had some grand plans of their own.

I didn't realise this when I released Leon, but they started with a full exploration idea set. They wasted no time in quickly rushing off to South America to form their new empire. I only realised what they were doing when I got a notification that Leon had moved their capital to the Orinoco Delta (Venezuela) and had four more colonies going.

One month after they moved their capital, they went bankrupt. Very cool Leon
