(1520) Why does the new world end up looking like this? Makes it extremely annoying to colonize anything. Doesn't help with the fact that everyone is at war with everyone at all times so can't siege shit that hasn't already been sieged.

Be careful you don't miss the point about North American Natives...

    Posted: 01 Aug 2021 09:20 AM PDT

So I've been seeing a LOT of posts talking negatively about the current state of North American natives and how the recent update makes colonization "too hard".

The feedback about how they get way too much development too fast and the reform speed needing to be checked is certainly valid, and makes sense.

The people claiming that there are too many Natives in general are JUST WRONG. Please remember that the idea of an open, empty North American continent is a MYTH. There is absolutely zero historical support for that idea, and in fact if the game wanted to be more accurate then nearly EVERY province in NA would be filled with a tribe. Many NA tribes didn't have government structures that would have been recognizable to Europeans at the time, but please stop complaining about the fact the tribes exist and that all "the spots got taken". The fact is, nearly all land in NA WAS claimed by tribes- that is why even the earliest colonists either had to murder tribes in their area to stake their claim or make treaties with them to live on their territory.

Please don't let outdated and inaccurate information dictate your criticism of the game. Too much development too fast is perfectly fine, but all those provinces being filled up means a more accurate game, at least in so far as how well EU4 can simulate those tribes' territories.

Third time in a row ai Castile the moment it inherits Aragon breaks alliance with me, declares war and subjegate me. I cant get strong enough to defend myself and England is useless as ally. They dont even care about conquering Grenada.

Is the Ilkhanate a good nation to form?

    Posted: 01 Aug 2021 12:29 PM PDT

I know persia is probably more OP, but is there any reason to form Ilkhanate from a horde?

Edit: also what is the best nation to form Ilkhanate?
