Missions Expanded Dev Diary 20.06.2021 - The Sloth of Tuscany

Hey folks, in today's Missions Expanded Dev Diary, we will discuss a small update released just today, as well as the trees not discussed before that come with it - Florence, Pisa and Tuscany.

We shall begin with a note - Missions Expanded has been updated with new mission trees today, so get it here if you haven't yet!

Before we begin with the overview of the new mission trees, here are the mission trees that have just been released:

    Florence

    Tuscany

    Pisa

    Italy

    Italian Minor State

    Montferrat

The State of Italy Post Update

Now, let's get to the Dev Diary portion on Florence, Tuscany and Pisa.

    The Sloth of Tuscany

Ciao ragazzi and welcome to the the last and final DD of the Italian update featuring Florence, Pisa and Tuscany.

Regarding the Pisan tree after you have reclaimed your independence by either diplomacy or war your role as a resurgent maritime republic will be to establish your lost dominions in the Tyrrenean Sea and Central-Eastern Mediterranean Coast.

    https://preview.redd.it/kyw9kmcawe671.png?width=363&format=png&auto=webp&s=397e0ae121d53515c481b63fa8e66c5665f4e0cc

Now regarding Florence and Tuscany, they have always been defined has the ultimate tall experience, and basically the irl definition of monarch power, therefore the tree [reflecting the history of the nation] has followed the same path with little to no expansion [outside the Tuscan area] aimed to create the ultimate tall 5 province powerhouse of the World.

As Florence your main aim will be the unification of the Tuscan area and creating an age of Prosperity for the Heartland of the Renaissance.

    https://preview.redd.it/b6qbi2ggwe671.png?width=359&format=png&auto=webp&s=e1c88820024f90fdb139d092747c43dccd4f8494

Dear to the Florentine government was the treating of the poor with the creation of a hospital of Renaissance marvel aimed to help everyone through war.

    https://preview.redd.it/c6ba961jwe671.png?width=754&format=png&auto=webp&s=9f0a3d311b9ae3fe2a422726e40ead1aea1153d5

Due to the bad shape parts of Tuscany were left when the Medici were exiled, with your return to the Tuscan lands deep reforms will be required for the administration and creation of your richness.

Now, completing the creation of your wealth the Florentine cloth and the marble of Carrara will surely come handy.

Obviously some numbers are subject to change especially once tested in some peculiar environment, but if you want the ultimate No Expansion Only Tall experience, this is what you'd always wished for (:

    Have a nice day <3

For those who don't know, it's a fourth tier government reform for Catholic/Scottish/Celtic theocracies.

It gives 10% goods produced, 75% production efficiency in grain provinces, and 50% production efficiency in wine provinces.

Goods produced is one of the best economic modifiers in the entire game since it boosts your production income and trade income, to the point where even if this reform was just 10% goods produced I'd still take it. Even though production efficiency is much worse than goods produced, 75% on one of the most common trade good is still really powerful as well.

Your other options in this tier are:

    • -.1 yearly corruption (pretty good)
    • -10% stab cost (pretty bad, you don't get stab loss on ruler death and have lots of pope mana as most theocracies)
    • +.25 army tradition, 5% nobility loyalty, 10% nobility influence (this seems ok but you need a lot of other modifiers to keep army tradition up. Plus the 5% loyalty/influence imbalance means that it's harder to revoke privilege's from them in the leadup to age of absolutism)
    • 5% global trade power, 5/10 burger loyalty/influence

It seems like Monastic brewers is not just clearly better than every other reform on this tier, but also better than most government reforms period.

Especially in my current game as The Knights, where I'll be conquering the insane wheat provinces in Egypt....it seems way too good to pass up.
