The Imperial Council - /r/eu4 Weekly General Help Thread: May 3 2021 Posted: 03 May 2021 06:00 AM PDT Please check our previous Imperial Council thread for any questions left unanswered
Welcome to the Imperial Council of r/eu4, where your trusted and most knowledgeable advisors stand ready to help you in matters of state and conquest. This thread is for any small questions that don't warrant their own post, or continued discussions for your next moves in your Ironman game. If you'd like to channel the wisdom and knowledge of the master tacticians of this subreddit, and more importantly not ruin your Ironman save, then you've found the right place! Important: If you are asking about a specific situation in your game, please post screenshots of any relevant map modes (diplomatic, political, trade, etc) or interface tabs (economy, military, ideas, etc). Please also explain the situation as best you can. Alliances, army strength, ideas, tech etc. are all factors your advisors will need to know to give you the best possible answer.
Tactician's Library:Below is a list of resources that are helpful to players of all skill levels, meant to assist both those asking questions as well as those answering questions. This list is updated as mechanics change, including new strategies as they arise and retiring old strategies that have been left in the dust. You can help me maintain the list by sending me new guides and notifying me when old guides are no longer relevant! Getting StartedNew Player Tutorials

If you have any useful resources not currently in the tactician's library, please share them with me and I'll add them! You can message me or mention my username in a comment by typing /u/Kloiper Calling all imperial councillors! Many of our linked guides pre-Dharma (1.26) are missing strategy regarding mission trees. Any help in putting together updated guides is greatly appreciated! Further, if you're answering a question in this thread, chances are you've used the EU4 wiki and know how valuable a resource it can be. When you answer a question, consider checking whether the wiki has that information where you would expect to find it, and adding to the wiki if it does not. In fact, anybody can help contribute to the wiki - a good starting point is the work needed page. Before editing the wiki, please read the style guidelines for posting. [link] [comments]

Posted: 03 May 2021 02:03 AM PDT So I will admit I've not played a huge amount of eu4 or any paradox game really I probably have fifty hours at most per game. But I wanted to weigh in on this whole "toxic community" debate as someone with no stakes in the game. First let's get the basic out of the way. If you have sent a threat or made a threat of violence in anyway to a dev, you're toxic, there's no excuses. Not one. But I think we all agree there. This isn't a paradox community issue, it's a gaming community issue. Paradox will be aware of this, it's pretty well documented. It's disgusting and we should reject it. Simple. Direct contact with devs outside of support channels probably should stop too, it's not nearly on the same level but directly messaging or responding to random devs you've found on twitter or reddit with your woes with a product they probably aren't even close to fully responsible for isn't the way to go. They aren't spokes people and aren't paid to listen to your rants. Leave them be. Publishers and developer company accounts (ie the EU4 twitter account) are totally different, someone is directly responsible and paid to listen to your woes there, so vent your issues away. It's the best way to get your voices heard. Obviously again, threats of violence of any kind are not okay even here. Subreddits and forums, again these are made for support and feedback, I would totally understand devs avoiding it for release, even if it was overwhelmingly positive I'd probably tell my devs to stay off the forums during a release, allow your community managers to vet information, compile it to data that can help development and pass it on. Saying your community is toxic for giving feedback tells me one thing. You're not using your community managers properly and your forcing devs to sift through complaints (some of which are going to be very hard for untrained devs to read about something they no doubt worked hard on) and try to get meaningfuk data from it. Can't imagine why this might drain moral. The idea that suddenly this community it's toxic is insanity. From everything I've read compared to other botched releases you guys have been pretty reasonable, and the leaders of paradox should be ashamed. Hire more qa sure but hire and manage your staff better too, get some community managers and request devs directly tied to a release stay away from forums and reddits for a bit. The gaming community has some really disgusting bad eggs which I hope we all agree to reject but that doesn't mean all negative feedback goes on to this. [link] [comments]
Hey Howdy Hey, it's an AI Texas! Posted: 02 May 2021 08:40 PM PDT

Posted: 03 May 2021 09:53 AM PDT Paradox we don't hate you, we do happen to love your company and the great many things you do. At least for myself, and I hope for the majority of this community, we want an apology. Not some, "we are sorry it wasn't to your liking" that is just, "I am sorry you feel you deserve an apology" by other words. Leviathan was wrong, it was an insult, and it was a betrayal of the Paradox community. The worst thing is, betrayal never comes from an enemy, it generally comes from a friend. For you, a company who we like and love, we want an apology for knowingly taking advantage of our trust and goodwill. Until then, how can we trust you to be honest again? [link] [comments]
