EU4 I tried very hard to kill off Henry VI. He led every battle, every siege, for 37 years in a state of constant war. He captured near all of Ireland, defeated the Scots twice and claimed the French throne, and never lost a battle. He dies the greatest incompetent commander I've ever had.

How can I get better at increasing my economy?

    Posted: 26 Dec 2020 09:12 AM PST

What I personally feel holds me back in this game is my ability to create a powerful economy. In my Great Khan run, I conquered all of Asia but SE Asia, and yet iirc my profits (income minus expenses) was only 600 ducats a month. I've seen other players do the same but they make thousands of ducats monthly.

I recently did a bbb run, conquered most of england, and was making an impressive 90 ducats a month. However I started expanding through muscovy to the steppes to india, and couldn't funnel any of that back to the english channel. Furthermore I was france, and I pued castile and killed england, so portugal was the only colonizer (so no new world money back to the english channel). I also didn't state any of england, which looking back I think was a terrible idea. By 1600 I was still making 100 ducats a month, but countries like the mamluks were up to 180 ducats a month.

Lastly, someone here posted a pic of their commonwealth economy. In 1600 they had 220 ducat income, and when I asked how they did it they said it wasn't very hard.

How can I get a high income in 1600? Any economic tips? Should I be stating provinces I conquer? Which ones? Maybe you guys know of some good youtube videos on eu4 economy?

Overall I just don't understand why people are able to get much better economies than me and how they do it. I'd like to learn.
