I will try EU4 this week from a friend's account. Can you recommend me some Civs/Countries?

    Posted: 08 Sep 2020 05:32 AM PDT

I'm Circassian and I heard there is Circassian country but I also heard it's one of the hardest countries to play because it's pretty weak. Next would be the Ottoman Empire because I'm also Turkish but they probably have too many enemies and land.

What I want is more of a peaceful trade-oriented country. After I get some economy going I can colonize some places and then start wars.

I don't know how many DLCs he has but he played EU4 for like 600-700 hours I'm sure he has essential ones at least

My ramble on the "Disagreeing advisor" event

    Posted: 08 Sep 2020 06:36 AM PDT

Ok so when you hire advisors (mostly admin) you get events where the an advisor disagrees with you the game gives you 2 options- "He has a point" which causes you to take a hit on prestige but get monarch points and "Off with his head" which kills the advisor.

My problem with this is that if you choose to kill him it shows the usual advisor death screen with all the "we may never see the likes of him again" stuff, I have ordered for him to be killed and I get that message?

I would prefer a message like "My Prince, the one scum of a traitor in our court, *advisor name* has been killed! This has given us the space for a truly dedicated and loyal court member to advise you and lead our divine nation!"

Ik this isn't a big deal but its a nice touch I would love to see in the game. :)

Sorry for any grammar related issues.

    What's the deal with republics?

    Posted: 08 Sep 2020 01:34 PM PDT

So I am doing a Novogrod game for the Frozen Assets and...
    Republics are crap arent they?

You are stuck with poor rulers, there is a ton of events which are very harmful - usually attack your income or stability, Lack of estates compounds MP loss from crap rulers...

Am I doing it wrong or are they really that bad?
