What Does "A Hero's Welcome" Reference?

I've always wondered what the achievement "A Hero's Welcome" is supposed to reference. According to the wiki, you need to form Rum as Karaman.

For most other achievements, I get the references; for example, "Definitely the Sultan of Rum" is taking over the capital of the other pretender Roman successors. "Better Than Napolean" is about capturing the cities that did Napolean Bonaparte in.

It seems that there's a reference in "A Hero's Welcome", but I don't understand what it is. Can someone explain it to me?
