How do I avoid having an heir?

    Posted: 23 Sep 2020 10:11 AM PDT

So I've got the base game and I want to play as England. The issue is that they have the worst ruler possible.

This shouldn't be a problem as I can lose the war of the roses, yet in the 5 Times I've tried this, my infertile, unmarried ruler has had an heir. Can I stop this or is it completely RNG?

Tips for becoming emperor as spain?

    Posted: 23 Sep 2020 08:22 AM PDT

I want to get the spain is the emperor achievement. I have read two routes online:

    1. Ally four electors, RM, and improve relations from the start. If they don't vote you in go to war with the emperor and take away land until they are smaller and don't get the +50 for big nation in the empire bonus.

    2. Wait until the protestant league and then ally the protestant electors since they'll hate austria but they have to vote for a catholic.

Which is more consistent? The second one sounds more likely but I don't want to go all the way to the protestant league only for it not to work.
