What Free City in EU4 is the best to play as?

I want a mod that removes venice entirely.

I mean, REALLY?! they always have like 40 more ships than you and always for some reason have a massive stack. When u attack that stack a never ending flow of 10k stacks come from god knows where. I want a mod that removes it, its always such a waste of time to chase them down.

Does anyone else have ancestors that are in the game?

    Posted: 20 Oct 2021 05:08 AM PDT

My mom did some dna testing and found out that we're descended from king Henry VI. I thought this was really cool and wanted to play as him until I remembered he's the 0/0/0 starting ruler of England that I've always tried to get rid of as soon as possible and that he lost all the English territory in France and caused the wars of the roses which are things I always try to prevent.

Reformed Christian denominations getting no love?

    Posted: 20 Oct 2021 12:57 AM PDT

With the new dlc on the horizon and the new options that catholic nations have does anyone feel like the reformed denominations need a bit more? I was under the assumption that the catholic faith was quite tame on purpose because they start off as the most dominant religion in europe and usually stays that way. I am glad that the -1 tolerance to heretics will be replaced, but the additions to the curia powers mainly the 10% morale seems to encroach on the reformed and protestants more militarily focused religions even if temporary since you have had time to build up a stockpile of papal influence. And don't even get me started on the poor anglicans.....

Can someone explain to me how we are supposed to win an independence war?

    Posted: 20 Oct 2021 06:00 AM PDT

I am playing as Uesugi in Japan. After a long time, I've finally decided to declare the independence war against Ashikaga. After many back and forth of power in this war, I am finally at 94% of war score but I can't find any way to press my demands. Am I supposed to reach hundred percent? I am losing patience. After God knows how many loans I took, they also pull battleships out of thin air and have a rebellion burst in Kyoto.
