    Roman Empire formation change

    Posted: 01 Jun 2021 04:04 AM PDT

Hi all, as the title suggest, I think that the formation requirements for the roman empire are a bit too unhistorical and eurocentric. Given that the roman empire was based on the mediterranean and the european provinces were quite a burden economically, i would suggest as follows:

Remove york, and put an equally developed province in belgium and/or southern germany instead. Britain was quite pointless, and it was the only province being abandoned while not being truly romanized.

Remove mashriq, and substitute it with egypt. It should be important to get provinces in syria though, probably aleppo AND damascus. Modern iraq was conquered for just a couple of years, while the border with parthians and sasanids was alyas somewhere between syria, turkey and north iraq.

I would add a couple of provinces in north africa, given that it was an important part of roman conquests, for example tripoli and algeri

What do you think? Would this keep it as difficult as before as an achievement?

how the fuck do i get Castille to actually do the Reconquista?

    Posted: 01 Jun 2021 05:25 AM PDT

I'm playing Portugal and I want Castille to actually finish it's missions, so I've been tag switching to them to make them build to force limit, I've given them money and a bit of development so they can afford it, but they keep deleting any new army units I create for them. I've even given them manpower, but they won't do anything.

The reason I care is because I want Spain to actually form (Castille never fucking does it whenever I don't play as them) and I want to see a game where the Castillian AI manages to actually do the Reconquista, because they never fucking do it without Portugal taking some or all of Granada
