Missions Expanded Dev Diary 04.10.2020 A Brand New Muscovite Tree!

Yo Folks, I'm u/Stiopa866, the lead dev of Missions Expanded and in today's dev diary Com.Diehard will be talking about his brand new Muscovite tree, so tune in!

    The Muscovite Mission Tree

Hi guys, Com.Diehard here with some spicy information about the new Muscovy tree. The Current tree is horrible. It is full of weird titles and bland missions. I (along with Big Boss) tried to give Muscovy the flavour it deserved. Now the tree will be divided in 3. Conquest/diplomacy, Religion and Estates. I will highlight the first missions and then an event.

Now the first mission you will probably complete is "Regain Stability". This mission will help you recover from a certain event and shall spur you onto conquest. It will also calm your unruly vassals down.
Next up is "Influence the Patriarchate". This is the start of the Religion tree branch and jt rewards you with some Patriarch authority.
Now you may find this basic, but this is only the start!
After this, let us talk about "Fall of Novgorod". This mission is ofcourse about killing Novgorod.
But just like you once could do so in the Ottoman-Mamluk war, you will be able to insta-annex them.
Beware though that you face serious maluses like overextension and rebels.
We are still experimenting with this and it might not make it into the release, should it be found too unbalanced.
"Republic of Pskov" will improve your trade as that is a weak spot for Muscovy.
Lastly let us talk about "The Boyars". The Nobles are usually people you cannot and should not trust and thus this mission is about striking them down. Or is it? Depending on your choice you may just reinforce them and gain their favor.

(Sorry not sorry for the event image)

Remember that event I talked about? Well here it is.
This event will decide the course of your playthrough. During the rule of Vasiliy II there was a civil war, one that partially takes place in eu4's timeframe.
This event will force you to take a side. Will you support the rightful Rurikovich ruler, securing your vassals but facing plenty of rebels, or will you side with Shemyaka, the tactful claimant with the backing of the Great Khan?
Choosing Vasiliy will result in rebels and a weak starting ruler. Shemyaka however is tactful and a much better ruler but there is unfortunately another side to the coin: Shemyaka must face the Rurikovich vassals and after his victory, must become a tributary to the Khan.

    The End

This is it for today. I (Stiopa) am currently on a hiatus, so don't expect much progress updates on Poland/German Trees in the upcoming days or maybe even weeks.
