    The Immortal Savonarola

    Playing as Florence, got Savonarola as a leader. Eventually got an event that said he was dead...but he wasn't. He's now 120 years old, been a general for at least 70 years now. Still won't die.

    Don't get me wrong, I'm pretty happy with it - he's a 5-5-4 by virtue of a mil-stat boosting event, and he's a pretty excellent general. Unfortunately I've been excommunicated for many years as well.

    Is this a common bug?? I haven't seen anything like this before.

    Interesting or Unique Starts for Relatively New Players?

    I've played just under 40 hours of EU4 (the majority of this was spent in a Castille/ Spain campaign) and i'm starting to feel somewhat comfortable with general mechanics of the game and i'm interested in a bit of a change of pace.

    What are some of your favorite starts/ play styles (any tips you may have to make the starts work are also appreciated)?

    I currently own the Common Sense and Art of War expansions but am willing to consider getting additional ones if they are essential for the campaign (or in general).
