(Serious) What mouse do you use to prevent carpal tunnel syndrome?

    Posted: 26 Jan 2020 09:55 AM PST

Seriously. I'm getting old and after working, playing EU4 is tough on my fingers. Given that constant clicking is basically unavoidable with this game, what mouse have you found that prevents long-term damage?

EDIT: Specifically, I'm feeling a lot of shoulder tightness in my right shoulder from the mouse holding and also on my index finger from the clicking. Any advice on this would be great!

Missions Expanded Dev Diary 26.01.2020 Oda and Ashikaga Mission Trees

Hey Folks! I'm u/Stiopa866, the Lead Developer and today two of my colleagues will be talking about their new mission trees. So, without further ado, let's get right into Oda and Ashikaga!

    Oda

Hello there, I'm u/Atanvarno94, a new member of the Mission Expanded modding team, and I am here to talk about the Daimyo I've been working on lately: Oda.

The Paradox tree for Oda surely was not a fitting tree for a nation that is well renown by the players as the Japanese Prussia, where are its space marine then?

    https://preview.redd.it/ldj0ps0hl5d41.png?width=546&format=png&auto=webp&s=a6f0740bbaf61df7f326974c0fa07f59748100a3

The focus I gave Oda in 1.9 is centred around their rise to power to the strongest Daimyo in Japan.

The starting mission fits Oda's starting position, surrounded by many Daimyos the player will need to reinforce its army and to face its enemies the Song of the Lion will be there

    https://preview.redd.it/w8yh9g1jl5d41.png?width=738&format=png&auto=webp&s=99ee6059908f7cd39db1c116eb1e4435ae462e64

The initial expansion may irritate the Shogun and our Daimyo will need to wait for the Shogun response regarding his expansionism.

Before being able to advance towards Kyoto and claim the title of the Shogun you will have to reform your samurai as well as show all the other Daimyos your strength.

Finally, once you've claimed Kyoto and have shown all the other Daimyos your might the path is open to uniting all of Japan.

    Have a nice day,
    Melvasul :)

    Ashikaga

Konnichiwa everyone, i am u/MEbigBoss and today I can finally reveal the Ashikaga and give you a little glimpse of the upcoming update.

    https://preview.redd.it/ranq5nw4m5d41.png?width=522&format=png&auto=webp&s=001634861a3371dbb45d3172719b2be9b376ccce

Whilst the Paradox Japanese Tree sure has meat on its bones, it's a bit too generic and does not fit Ashikaga as the Shogun of Japan. For this reason, I decided to give Ashikaga its own bit of flavor for 1.9, the Japanese Update.

The tree, whilst short, will give you the full course of what it's like playing as the Shogun. A great example of that, is the interactivity between the missions and the Shogun Government Abilities.

The Kyoto Contribution, now tied to a new event for Ashikaga at the start of the game, and 'Restore Authority' will commence the grand effort of the Shogun to stabilize and centralize the unruly Daimyos.

    https://preview.redd.it/ygfvudacm5d41.png?width=1178&format=png&auto=webp&s=c4f62be99a5b1d6a0bd84658672b79662f724808

Speaking of events, Ashikaga will have its fair share of new ones.

Ranging from converting Ryuku to its own Daimyo, to the ages-old tradition of Daijo Tenno and even appointing a Tosenbugyo, Ashikaga playthroughs are sure to be a smashing hit for ambitious players.

    https://preview.redd.it/a8muwbehm5d41.png?width=564&format=png&auto=webp&s=ecb59860cddbe1ad031de5d7e53c54fbef12e186

    https://preview.redd.it/71l35tshm5d41.png?width=737&format=png&auto=webp&s=07688a56ceeded8511f5907462328d898fc9c7f9

Finally, the last mission of the tree to the right, 'Punish Warmongers' will be left unrevealed as a surprise for next week during when I will be talking about the Pirates of Japan, the So clan!

    The End

As always, thank you for reading!
