There are only Four 6/6/6 rulers during EU4

    Posted: 20 Nov 2021 07:15 AM PST

    They are:

    1) Akbar I (Akbar the Great) Mughals 1556 2) Gustav II Adolfus (Lion of the North) Sweden 1611 (Paradox is from Sweden) 3) Pyotr I Veliky (Peter the Great) Russia 1682 4) Friedrich II der Große (Friedrich the Great) 1740

There are 8 rulers who have 17 monarch points (ex. 6/6/5). I guess there would be more great rulers in the game, but they probably died on hunting accidents.

Why is everyone saying that ottomans need buff?

    Posted: 20 Nov 2021 01:51 AM PST

Are we playing different eu4? Cause in my games Ottomans always easily conquer Mamluks, Hungary and Poland by 1550. And that's a miracle if they have only 300k troops by that date, sometimes they reach up 1M troops in 1550. Are those who says that Ottomans need buff are just noobs who play as them or have them as ally? lol

r5:... spain got weird. it started when there was a war between Aragon and Castile over some random province, wherein valencia was released. then France took a chunk of Catalonia. Then valencia went ham on the former aragon. shortly after, castile got decked due to fighting france basically solo. all the while Portugal was doing there thing in morocco.

though props to spain they're still colonizing

    Japan needs some TLC

    Posted: 20 Nov 2021 11:28 PM PST

Once you done Japan twice, you've done it a million times. Once as a daimyo, once as the shogun. Japan is just a fun nation, but it doesn't have enough content. The missions stop pretty short, colonization as them is strange, and their old world gameplay is dissapointing. Here's my ideas for a better Japan.

    1. Missions. More missions, similar to what Rule Brittania got. New missions, not only for Japan itself, but unique ones for different Daimyo. Oda, Hosokawa, and Usuegi could be all about conquering Japan. A daimyo on Kyushu coukd be about playing tall. So would be about pirating and naval supremacy, maybe getting claims on different islands nearby, like Jeju-do. Also, more missions for Japan itself. For Asian missions, why stop with one province in North China and some of Manchuria? Why not lead the player to claim the Mandate. Or, how about lead the player further south, to Australia. For colonization missions, why is Alaska left out? Why not lead the player to Alaska before California?

Colonization. Colonization as Japan is lacking in something. It needs something to be a bit more unique so your not just playing Asian Great Britain. Firstly, how about random headaches? After the new world is found, how about a random clan, either an existing one or a new/generated one, spawns in the new world on the coast against you. For example, Hosokawa appearing in Baja California after I kicked them out as Oda. Thats just one idea, not sure how well it could be, though.

Unique Mechanics. Europe has the HRE, which plays out brilliantly. I do think something like it would benefit Japan. In Japan, the emperor has always existed. Yes, his power has been removed multiple times, but he was never dethroned. So, rather than him not existing at all, he is used in HRE style mechanics. Perhaps, if your the Shogun, your goal is to weaken the emperor. While if your a Daimyo, you can choose to support either of the two. If you get the emperor strong enough, he can spawn as your leader (6 in 2 stats) and start a war against the shogun with every other emperor supporter. Maybe, if only one daimyo supports the emperor and wins, that can lead to a new way to form Japan in a single, large war. Just an idea.

Any other ideas? I like adding something similar to the Papacy, HRE, or MoH mechanics to Japan, as I think it'd fit well.

I think workshops are better than manufactories on mutapa

    Posted: 20 Nov 2021 09:33 PM PST

Manufactories give flat plus 1 goods produced, which is equal to 5 dev, plus 0.2 from mutapa missions. For the same price you can get 5 workshops, each 1 dev, equal to 1 goods produced plus 50% production efficiency on all of them, which I think might be just better on its own. Combine that with the fact that you can build workshops on expensive trade goods before manufactories, and I think it's optimal in general on mutapa to just build workshops in every province until you get expensive manufactories.

    Orleans Strategy?

    Posted: 20 Nov 2021 04:59 PM PST

I'm used to playing major countries, but the Joan de Arc event chain for Orleans looks quite interesting and it'd be something very different for me to do. Any advice for doing this? I don't even know how to go about getting out of being France's vassal at the start.
