Please check our previous Imperial Council thread for any questions left unanswered

Welcome to the Imperial Council of r/eu4, where your trusted and most knowledgeable advisors stand ready to help you in matters of state and conquest.

This thread is for any small questions that don't warrant their own post, or continued discussions for your next moves in your Ironman game. If you'd like to channel the wisdom and knowledge of the master tacticians of this subreddit, and more importantly not ruin your Ironman save, then you've found the right place!

Important: If you are asking about a specific situation in your game, please post screenshots of any relevant map modes (diplomatic, political, trade, etc) or interface tabs (economy, military, ideas, etc). Please also explain the situation as best you can. Alliances, army strength, ideas, tech etc. are all factors your advisors will need to know to give you the best possible answer.

Below is a list of resources that are helpful to players of all skill levels. This list is updated as mechanics change, including new strategies as they arise and retiring old strategies that have been left in the dust. Calling all imperial councillors! Many of our linked guides pre-Dharma (1.26) are missing strategy regarding mission trees. Any help in putting together updated guides is greatly appreciated! Further, if you're answering a question in this thread, chances are you've used the EU4 wiki and know how valuable a resource it can be. When you answer a question, consider checking whether the wiki has that information where you would expect to find it, and adding to the wiki if it does not. In fact, anybody can help contribute to the wiki - a good starting point is the work needed page. Before editing the wiki, please read the style guidelines for posting.

The spreadsheet you didn’t ask for but secretly wanted

The spreadsheet you didn't ask for but secretly wanted

So I had some spare time at work and decided to make a spreadsheet of idea groups, which then I included policy cards, and then I added national ideas. And then I thought it would be cool if you could search the spreadsheet to find specific nations or ideas that have specific ideas, and it would be cool to see them all together. So then I dumped even more time into it. And this spreadsheet was created.

There are three tabs in the Spreadsheet

Note this was dumped from the wiki on 11/19 so it's likely to go out of date, but if you want to theorycraft a campaign, this might be the tool for you.

If you do a ctrl+F and search the entire Spreadsheet, you'll notice some things:

It shows you which sheet it's in, the group/nation/etc it's part of, and how early you get it (i.e. Brabant's second idea is Stab cost, while it's a Tradition for Circassia).

It can also be sorted by value to see high to low:

And I'm working on one more piece. A Userform that helps you out which is in beta on the Spreadsheet. If you click "Find a Nation" on the National Ideas page (you'll have to enable content), you will see the following:

    https://preview.redd.it/xlmsqem5zxz31.png?width=811&format=png&auto=webp&s=2bd1dd2fdbf3fbe206123afb2774bcd0cc880820

You can free text search two things, get a list of nations, and jump to that nation:

I'm still finishing up filling out the "form" on the right so it doesn't necessarily have to 'jump' to the spot on the "National Ideas" page, but instead just display. The nice part is the form doesn't close if you click "Go to Nation" and the Matching Nations doesn't clear out, so you can jump to another nation that matches again:

If people have an interest in this, I will make it available for downloading. Let me know if it's something you'd use and if you'd like to see some other changes to it or other ideas/concepts/etc tabs added.
