Missions Expanded Dev Diary 10.11.2019 Further Ottoman Changes

Hey Folks! I'm u/Stiopa866, the Lead Dev of Missions Expanded and today I'll be talking about changes made to the Ottoman Tree.

    Ottoman Changes

What you can see above is the old mission tree for the Ottomans. Then, last week, removal of Mamluk Estate and Autonomy and tying them to the new event for Ottoman Annexation of Mamluks (read about it here) has been executed. With some of the space freed up, I had more space to go by and change missions around which I exploited. Here's the new mission tree which also includes the new missions to reduce the Mamlukean autonomy if the first option is picked for the annexation event.

While I would like to go more in depth, I did have a stressful week which caused me to have a shortage of time to work on the tree. Nevertheless, I would like to talk more about how I aim the autonomy to be decreased.

This is a basic draft which explains which missions decrease the value by what amount.

I'll now go more in depth into the requirements:

Integrate the Conquests - Requires to have 25 state cores over the newly acquired land. If there is less than 25 mamluk cores, you have to have a state core everywhere. This applies in the further missions.

Bribe the Mamluks - Requires you to use the estate interaction "Bribe the Mamluks" 5 times, like it was in the old missions.

Assign Pasha - Requires you to assign a few pashas to the newly acquired land (the value is not set yet)

Pearl of Egypt - Get a province in Egypt over 40 development.

Prospering - Bring prosperity to the newly acquired territories.

Barracks - Build the "Barracks" building or higher in the provinces that have the autonomy. 15 provinces with the building are required to complete the mission.

Man the Forts - Have used the new "Man the Forts" estate interaction 5 times, which is meant to drain your manpower just to give 25% local defensiveness in the forts of Egypt.

Camps for Regiments - Build 25 regimental camps or recruitment centers in the autonomy land.

Time - the autonomy is further decreased by certain time milestones passing.

Furthermore, an autonomy reduction can happen only once in 10 years. That means that you have to wait 10 years between each event/mission to reduce the autonomy.

I am open to suggestions, if you think that the balance is off (and it probably is, I didn't have the time to playtest it yet!), please do tell me!

    The End

Thanks for reading! I know this dev diary has been rather short and lackluster, but there was a lot of stuff going on in the past days and there wasn't much time to go by.

As always, you can go ahead and join our discord server here.

    See you next week!
