Missions Expanded Dev Diary 03.11.2019 Persian Generic Missions and Initial Ottoman changes

Hey Folks! I'm u/Stiopa866, the Lead Developer of Missions Expanded, and today I'll be talking about the new generic persian missions and the initial changes to the Ottomans.

    The Generic Persian Tree

The Generic Persian Mission Tree is shared between 5 countries (i.e Baluchistan, Sistan, Yazd, Kerman and Isfahan). It offers a handful of vague missions about increasing your relevance in the persian region and it gives each one several missions that are unique to their position.

Now, let's go in-depth with the missions.

    Mission Overview

Making conquest missions for such variety of starting positions can prove to be quite the challange. And so I resorted to giving a rather generic claim rewards.

    The Mission Reward (Event)

As I previously mentioned, I had aimed to give each nation a fair share of unique missions. The missions that were subsequently created focus around what the nations have achieved and what they would achieve if they had followed their ambitions. Here's some of these missions:

    Ottoman Changes

It's time to address the Ottomans and their tree. We are not quite satisfied with how the Ottomans are as of now. The 1.8 patch will not only offer bugfixes for them, but it will also offer changes in their tree and mechanics. One of the mechanics I wish to tackle today is The Mamluk Autonomy.

Initially, Mamluk autonomy was meant to weaken the already strong Ottomans, but it quickly became an anti-fun mechanic, that greatly hindered Ottoman expansion into the Mamlukean Sultanate. The Mamluk Autonomy mechanic will now start off by default.

As such, we decided to bring back one of the events that was brought up during the development of 1.7, and it being Annexation of the Mamluks.

Currently, it offers a possibility of fully annexing the Mamluks prior to 1520. To get the event, you need to get 95% warscore in an offensive war directly against the wicked Sultanate.

    https://preview.redd.it/xcuddheiliw31.png?width=809&format=png&auto=webp&s=4d9f8f6bca72d8de4060240ab988706b50f9e6fd

    Uh oh.

If you wish not to mess with the autonomy, you can always take the second option and accept 25 year claims on all of Mamlukean land. All of this means that there will be extra missions if you wish to reduce their autonomy.

As it is already in 1.7.1 The Mamluk autonomy starts at 95% autonomy by default. This amount will be reduced by:

    - Fully coring the land (the land you annex starts as territorial!)- Assigning Pashas (with non-dlc alternative)- Passing of time- Patronizing the Mamluk Estate 5 times (as it is in 1.7.1)- Building Military Infrastructure to host the Ottoman Garrison- Developing the affected landThe value of each of these missions is yet to be determined.

Furthermore, the Ottoman bugs will be adressed and the incident trees fixed.

If there are other issues for the Ottomans you wish to see changed, please comment down below or tag me ( Stiopa#2095 ) on our discord server's #me-suggestions channel.
